Schleicher County Commissioners met Monday, April 22, 2013, and voted to enact six pages of rules and regulations at the Eldorado Cemetery. The new rules come roughly 107 years after the cemetery was put into operation.
The property commonly known as the “Eldorado Cemetery” was originally purchased from M.A. Keeney in June of 1905 by

And, they don’t appear to be prepared to change the practice any time soon as the State of Texas is still awaiting a response from YFZ Ranch officials regarding its attempt to seize the 1,691 acre property located four miles northeast of Eldorado on Schleicher County Road 300.
The Eldorado High School golf team held off a stiff challenge from the Iraan and Panhandle teams to place 2nd at the Region 1A Golf Tournament and claim a berth in the State Golf Tourney on May 2 - 3 at the Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin. Individual scores and placings were not available at press time. Four teams competed in the tournament which was played in two rounds. The Eagles two-round score was 712. That was good enough to place 2nd behind the Rankin Red Devils team that shot a combined score of 676. The score also placed the Eagles ahead of Iraan and Panhandle by a single stroke. Those two teams returned to the course for a playoff to determine which of them would qualify for state as the 3rd Place team. Panhandle won the playoff and will advance to state with Rankin and Eldorado.

Eldorado High School One Act Play "The Voice of the Prairie" advanced to Regional, Saturday in Midland Area performance. Eldorado will perform Saturday, April 20 at South Plains College, Levelland. Christoval High School OAP also advanced.

Eldorado placed 3rd overall in the 1A UIL Academic District Meet held March 23rd at Irion County High School. Eldorado will be advancing several teams to Regional in Levelland on April 19th. Advancing to Regional are: Reed Hariman, Michael Bilbrey, Jessica Pasillas, Stormi Rinehart, Robin Hibbs, Austin Stapp, Ryan Espinosa, Esme Ruezga and Ashleigh Wright. Individual results are as follows: Number Sense: 1st Place Team Michael Bilbrey, Ashleigh Wright, Ryan Espinosa and Esme Ruezga. Individual Awards: 2nd Place- Michael Bilbrey; 6th Place- Ashleigh Wright Current Events: 3rd Place Team: Dalton Buchholz, Magali Mata, West Ramon and Lori Escobar Computer Applications: 1st Place- Jessica Pasillas. Cody Bridges hired as County Extension Agent

ELDORADO — Cody Bridges has been named the new Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resources agent for Schleicher County. His hiring was announced by Schleicher County judge Charlie Bradley and Scott Durham, AgriLife Extension administrator in San Angelo.
