Herbert Alvin Fuessel 1927 — 2011
SAN ANGELO — Herbert Alvin Fuessel, child of God, husband, father, grandpa, gg’pa, finished his journey here, sitting in his recliner he entered into the glories of heaven, his final destination.
Herbert, 84 years old, was born April 8, 1927, in Sandoval, Texas, to Ludwig and Lena Meier Fuessel, the fourth of five children. He attended schools in Mereta and Eola, Texas.
Herbert went into the armed services from August 1945 until March 1947, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps, communications division, during the occupation of Europe, spending most of his time in Italy.
Upon his return from the military, Herbert continued his life as a farmer, first as a share-cropper and then, two farmers wanting to retire asked him to purchase their farms. He farmed in the Wall area for many years, raising livestock, cotton and maize, later subdividing his farms for housing.
Carmen Page Joy Preston 1977-2011
Carmen Page Joy Preston went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 8, 2011. Carmen was born February 6, 1977 in San Angelo, Texas to Kerry and Debbie Joy of Eldorado. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1995 and obtained her Nursing Degree from Angelo State University. Carmen was a practicing RN and currently worked as a home health nurse, traveling all over the Concho Valley to care for her patients.
Thelia (Nook) Luedecke Mayo 1921 — 2011
Thelia Luedecke was born July 2, 1921, in Schleicher County, Texas, to John Herbert and Lizzie Smith Luedecke. She grew up on the family farm, the middle child of eight.
She attended schools in Eldorado, but graduated from high school in Portales, NM. She married her great love and friend, Johno Mayo on August 17, 1941. They lived and farmed in Schleicher County, but moved to San Angelo when Johno was drafted. After the war she and Johno partnered in Cactus Oil. In 1951, with his usual good timing, Johno decided to move back to Eldorado to the family farm. The great drought hit and the ensuing years were hard. Though money was scarce, she and Johno were true helpmeets, built their family and home on love and laughter, and always welcomed friends and family.
She worked for Southwest Texas Electric Coop and Schleicher County. For 17 years she was the Secretary to the Superintendent of schools. Many teachers, especially coaches, and students appreciated the assistance she gave them. After her retirement, she and Johno ran their cotton-buying business until his ill-health prevented their continuing.

Faye "Miss Faye" Cooksey
Faye “Miss Faye” Cooksey, 80, of San Angelo passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving friends and family. Viewing was Friday September 23, 2011 with the family present from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Funeral services were at 10:00 am Saturday September 24, 2011 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Brother Roger Blocker of The Heights officiating. Burial followed at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Andres “Andy” Pataino Martinez 1954-2011
Andy Martinez, 57, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. Andy was born June 13, 1954 to Prudencio and Beatrice Martinez. Andy was employed by Schleicher County ISD for 28 years. He was a faithful Eldorado Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers fan.
He was preceded in death by his father Prudencio Martinez, his grandmother, Julia Martinez and his grandson, Jordan Andres Martinez. He is survived by his mother Beatrice Martinez, wife Alma Rosa Martinez. Sons, Frank Martinez and Philip Martinez. Daughters, Joy Martinez and Judith Sanchez. Brothers, Jimmy Martinez and Barbara, Manuel Martinez and Pauline and David Martinez. Sisters, Lidia Perez, Angie Dominguez and Jesus. Rachael Fernandez and Antonio. Grandchildren, Zelenia, Malachi and Mirella and numerous nieces and nephews.
J.C. Bumguardner, Jr.
J.C. Bumguardner Jr., a resident of Eldorado, Texas, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at the age of 95. He was born in Brady, Texas on July 2, 1916, to Annie and J.C. Bumguardner Sr. On November 30, 1952, he married Ester Lee Hartman who preceded him in death in 1985. J.C. and Ester moved to their ranch in Schleicher County in 1970.
