SAN ANGELO — Frank D. Blair 87, of San Angelo passed away on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at his home in San Angelo, Texas. A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at Eldorado Primitive Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Stephen Emmons.
Frank was born on Sept. 11, 1922, in Concho, Texas, to Frank and Ailie Blair. The third oldest of nine children, seven of which preceded him death, Virginia Griffin, Garland Blair, Betty Wiley, Bo Hunt, Brooks Blair, Bob Blair and Charles Blair. Frank was a very caring, loving man that lived his life as he desired. He believed that a man's word was his bond and a deal was done with a handshake. You could always talk to him and receive wisdom without criticism, he loved and is loved by his family and will be in our memories forever.
MERTZON — Hubert Coy Hight, age 70, passed away at home Thursday, September 03, 2009. He was born in London, TX September 16, 1938 to Wiley William and Ruby Inez Hight. Graveside services were held Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Little Saline Cemetery at London, Texas under the direction of Kerbow Funeral Home of Eldorado, Texas.
He was a graduate of Eldorado High School. He was a veteran of the US Army. After the army, he began his welding career that spanned over 30 years. He was known by his fellow welders as "Wimpy". He was also known for his wit, humor and always had a smile or a laugh for anyone that knew him.
ELDORADO — Ama Lola went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009. She was born on Nov. 9, 1918, in Del Rio, Texas, to Jose DeLa Rose and Dionicia Brown. Ama Lola was raised in San Angelo, Texas, and later moved to Eldorado, Texas, after she married Francisco Garza on July 22, 1942. Together they owned and operated Garza Grocery for over 30 years.
She loved sewing and quilting and having her family around her. Ama Lola was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, her husband Franciso Garza and by her daughter, Gloria Garza Rodriguez.
SAN ANGELO — Dale Marion Peterson passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Community Medical Center. A family visitation was held on Monday, August 17, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Service was Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the funeral home.
Dale was born May 17, 1926, in Manti, Sanpete County, Utah, to William Henry Peterson and Mary Christine (Jensen) Peterson. He was the seventh of eight children born to that union, and they have all preceded him in death. He was married to Wanda Dannheim in San Angelo, Texas, May 10, 1952. They were married for fifty-seven years.
He served in the United States Navy briefly, and then he trained as a pilot in the United States Air Force. He was Aircraft Commander on a B-47 in the Strategic Air Command during the Cold War. During the Vietnam War he flew cargo for Military Air Command. He retired in 1968 as a Major after twenty-three years of service.
