Jack Samuel Hodges of Niederwald, Texas passed away on June 19, 2019 in Uvalde, Texas at the age of 90.

He was born on March 15, 1929 on the McIntosh Ranch in Schleicher County, Texas to Norm and Jewel (Clark) Hodges.

Jack graduated from Eldorado High School in 1947.

He was a U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Veteran. Jack was inducted into the U.S. Army on December 1, 1950.

After a combat tour in Korea, he transferred to the Army Reserve on October 10, 1952 and was discharged from the Army Reserve on October 1, 1956.

Jack married Martha Nichols on February 27, 1954 in Austin, Texas.

Jack’s favorite memories and the stories he loved to share were always about hunting and fishing with family and friends. Jack also loved having a vegetable garden.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years of Uvalde, Texas, sons, John Hodges and wife, Kim of Uvalde, Texas, Clay Hodges and wife, Susan of Royce City, Texas, grandchildren, Tiffany Blazek and husband, Justin of Kingwood, Texas, Kristin and Jon Scarborough of Keller, Texas, Jacy Malone and husband, Trey of Amarillo, Texas, Seth Hodges and wife, Cara of Rockwall, Texas, great grandchildren, Zachary Blazek, Brayden Blazek, Ellie Scarborough and Brixton Scarborough.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Norma Lynn Mund and brother-in-law Jelly Mund, great granddaughter, Addison Rae Blazek and great grandson, Forrest Samuel Hodges.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Ft. McKavett Cemetery in Ft. McKavett, Texas.
