Alicia Lopez Robledo, affectionately known by her family as “Honey,” returned to her heavenly home on January 30, 2019. She passed away peacefully at her home in Eldorado, Texas, surrounded by all of her children and granddaughter Brooke Sanchez. She was 88 years old.

Alicia was born on July 19, 1930, in Eldorado, Texas, where she remained a life-long resident.

“Honey” was defined by the love she felt for her family, and she devoted her life to them. She loved her home and taking care of her yard and plantings, which earned her Yard of the Month, “not once, but twice” as she would say. She was also an avid reader. She took advantage of every opportunity that she could to travel with her children. She also enjoyed many wonderful and happy years in the employment of Charlie and Kitty Trigg of Mertzon, Texas.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family: daughters Edwina Sanders (husband Nathan Cody) of Brighton, Colorado; Eloisa “Patsy” Barden (husband Ron) of Emporia, Kansas; Barbara Martinez (husband Jimmy) of Floresville, Texas; Linda Rice (husband Robert) of San Angelo; Lucy Gonzales (husband Gilbert) of San Angelo; and her son Jimmy Robledo (wife Sharon) of Tallassee, Alabama; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Emma Ponce of San Angelo. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her infant daughter, Dora Robledo and her brother, Cayetano Etheridge.

A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 109 West Gillis Avenue, Eldorado, 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2019. Interment of ashes and graveside service at Eldorado Cemetery.

The family is especially thankful for the care provided to “Honey” by the medical personnel and staff of Schleicher County Nursing Home, Community Hospital of San Angelo, and special thanks to Amber Russell and the hospice team.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice of San Angelo.
