Juaquin “PawPaw” Rojas - our husband, father, pawpaw, brother, uncle, and friend slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday April 10, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Juaquin was born October 9, 1950 in Eldorado, TX to Augustin Rojas and Guadalupe Adame. He attended school in Eldorado until the 9th grade when he left to help raise his siblings. After a chance meeting in 1982 he met the love of his life, Soila Hernandez, and with his devilish charm three short months later made an honest woman out of her. They were married for 35 years and shared numerous children together.

He was the jokester that kept his family laughing. Throughout his life he endured struggles that molded him into the strong, caring, and loving man we knew him to e. He never knew a stranger, was quick to make friends, and was the glue that held his family together. Being the wonderful father he was, did not compare to the outstanding grandfather he was. His true joy came when he was having tea parties, playing cheerleader, or watching sports with his grandchildren.

2017 started as a rough year after being diagnosed with liver cancer and turned out to be “The best year of his life.” In May he gained 12 new blessings, six brothers and six sisters.

Throughout the year he spent many weekends/mornings drinking coffee, sending text messages, telling jokes and sharing family history with his siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Soila Rojas; his children Chris Rojas, Charlene Rojas, Suzanne Esparza and husband Alfredo, Jonathon Larez and wife Lorena, Selina McSherry, Gilbert Guana, and Phillip Guana and wife Elida. 13 grandchildren, Ashley, Victor and Amy Rojas; Johnathon Cook; Landon and Willow McSherry; Belen and Amaya Esparza; Baby Juaquin Larez; Julie and Harleigh Guana; and Phillip and Stephen Guana, and 21 brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents Augustin Rojas and Guadalupe Adame, his sisters Adaline and Sylvia Adame, grandchildren Isaac and Joel Esparza.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 14th at the Carmelite Monastery. Burial followed at Eldorado Cemetery. Paul Bearers were Jose Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez, Ezequiel Robles, Richard Martinez, Gilbert Gauna, and Phillip Gauna.

Juaquin loved his Dallas Cowboys so we asked those attending to honor him by wearing Cowboy colors for his service. Visitation was held at Love’s Funeral Home, Eldorado, TX.

His family meant the world to him and he meant the world to his family.
