Kathy Denise Orr was called to join her Lord and Savior Monday, October 23, 2023, in Sonora, Texas unexpectedly after bravely battling through a debilitating illness for the last few years.
Kathy was born in Sonora on June 29, 1958, to Charles and Juanice Orr and grew up in Eldorado. She graduated Eldorado High School in 1976 and attended Angelo State University where she played baritone in the ASU Ram Band.
After college, Kathy spent many years in Eldorado, working at B&H Maintenance & Construction and the Schleicher County Medical Center. In 2001 she moved to Brady, Texas, where she worked at the Brady Standard newspaper and Davenport Trucking.
Kathy’s pride and joy were her 3 grandbabies, Charleigh Mae Wilson, Linlee Rain Smith, and Brydenn Charles Smith. She loved nothing more than being their Nonie and spending time with them.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Charles Orr, grandparents, George and Della Williams, and a grandson, James Oliver Wilson. She is survived by her mother, Juanice Orr of Sonora, brother George Orr and wife Andi of San Angelo, daughter Samantha Wilson and husband Tyler of Sonora, son Wesley Smith of Brady, and those lovely grandbabies.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Schleicher County Cemetery Chapel, 888 US 190 West in Eldorado at 2:00 PM.
