The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a new rule that will require veterinary prescriptions to purchase certain antibiotics used for animals, previously sold over the counter. The new rule will come into effect from June 11, 2023, and will impact a number of veterinary antibiotics considered “medically important antimicrobials.”
