Rex Kendall Tucker passed away on November 30, 2024 after a battle with a sudden and aggressive cancer.

Rex was born on November 15, 1970 in Big Spring to Roger and Martha Tucker. Rex grew up in Big Spring with his brother, Keith. Rex received his Eagle Scout award in 1986 alongside his lifelong friends, and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1989. Rex earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1994. Rex went on to have a fruitful career, working for and leading several teams at various companies.

Rex married the love of his life, Amy, on June 10, 1995. Together, they welcomed into the world their children: Jax in 1999, Georgia in 2002, and Jesse in 2003.

Rex’s legacy is that of a caring son, a devoted husband, a loving father, a loyal friend, and most of all, a good and faithful servant of Christ. He always made sure that everyone was taken care of, even as his health was waning. His dedication to providing for and sacrificing for others was juxtaposed with his sharp wit and lighthearted sense of humor. Rex loved his friends and family with overwhelming generosity, and was always willing and able to fiercely defend those he cared for.

Rex’s faith was his firm foundation. A strong Christian, Rex played a crucial role in planting Redeemer Church in Brady. All throughout his life, and especially in his last days on Earth, Rex spoke to anyone who would listen about the redeeming and steadfast love of God.

Rex is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.M. and Bertha Tucker, and E.H. and Wilma Topliffe; and his brother, Joel Keith Tucker.

Rex is survived by his wife, Amy Tucker; his son, Jaxon Tucker, and daughter-in-law, Sarah; his daughter, Georgia Coffman, and son-in-law, Ryan; his son, Jesse Tucker; his parents, Roger and Martha Tucker; his aunt, Myrta Overby; his parents-in-law, Michael and Marilyn Suber; his sister-in-law, Stacie Elizondo, and brother-in-law Santos; his niece, Sophia; and his sister-in-law, Bethany Suber.

The Tucker family would like to extend special thanks to Keyla and Darci with Hospice of San Angelo, who were angels sent during the hardest time of their lives.

Serving as pallbearers are lifelong friends Mark Barkley, John Barkley, Mark Richardson, Kerry Lowery, Tommy Stevens, and John Martinez.

Those touched by Rex’s life are invited to a visitation at Leatherwood Memorial Chapel in Brady on December 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. His funeral is open to all at Redeemer Church in Brady on December 6, with lunch at 11:30 a.m. and the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to Hospice of San Angelo (1933 University Ave, San Angelo, TX 76904) or Redeemer Church in Brady (200 W 4th St, Brady, TX 76825). The best way to honor Rex’s legacy is to share God’s love with someone who does not yet know Christ.
