San Angelo Man Dies in Fiery Crash on US 190

Jacob Daniel Aguayo, 30, of San Angelo, died in a fiery crash on Thursday, February 29, 2024, some six miles east of Eldorado on U.S. 190. Aguayo was driving eastbound when his 2017 Ford delivery truck left the roadway and struck a tree before catching fire.
Aguayo, the only occupant of the vehicle, was wearing a seatbelt according a report issued by Texas DPS Sergeant Justin Baker.
A passing motorist saw the accident and attempted to pull Aguayo from the wreck but had to abandon the effort when the truck caught fire.
Witnesses at the scene believed Aguayo died in the crash before the truck caught fire.
A 9-1-1 call reporting the accident was received by the Schleicher County Sheriff’s Office at 10:47 a.m. Units of the Eldorado Fire Department, Schleicher County Volunteer EMS and Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene. The arrived to find the truck fully involved in flames.
Schleicher County Justice of the Peace Rahegyn Franke pronounced Aguayo dead at the scene. DPS Trooper James Sissom of Eldorado investigated the accident.
