A total of 568 Schleicher County voters cast ballots in the May 24th primary runoff election with the vast majority of the votes being cast on the Republican ticket. Rahegyn Franke defeated T.J. Rodriguez 326-213 to be the Republican nominee for Justice of the Peace.

The Eldorado High School 2022 Spring Band Concert was held Thursday, May 19th, in the EHS auditorium. During the concert, Band Director Michael Bell and Assistant Director Justina Saunders presented retiring Elementary Music Teacher Joella Parker with a bouquet of flowers and praised her 44 years of support for the band program at all grade levels.

The EHS Academic Award Ceremony this year was held in the Eldorado High School Auditorium this past Monday, May 16th 2022. Junior Sam Griffin led the Pledge of Allegiance to open the program.

Jonathan McGee is the Valedictorian of the Eldorado High School Class of 2022, according to a statement released by the school on Monday. McGee completed his four years at EHS with a 101.9642 grade point average. Natalie Guadarrama is the class Salutatorian. She finishes her high school career with a 101.1052 grade point average.

Schleicher County Justice of the Peace Phil Edmistion donated $5,000 from his administrative fund to the Schleicher County Sheriff’s Office for a one-year subscription to the CodeRED internet-based notification system.

Jessica Garcia and Logan Prater will represent Eldorado High School at the UIL State Track Meet in Austin on Friday, May 13th.

Twelve Eldorado High School girls who applied for the Eldorado Woman’s Club scholarship were honored by the club on Tuesday May, 10th in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church. The scholarship is awarded each year to deserving girl graduates.

Eldorado City Council met Monday, May 9th and approved a zoning variance from residential to commercial for 111 Herman Street. Jessica Fuentes requested the zoning change at the council’s April 11th meeting.
