A high-speed chase, beginning with an attempted traffic stop in Sutton County, made its way into Schleicher County on Friday, March 31st, before turning south again and ending just south of the Sutton County line.

Schleicher County Commissioners met Monday, March 20th and voted to accept a bid from Fidel Herrera for management of the county swimming pool this summer.

The Eldorado City Council met Monday, March 13th and moved ahead with plans to replace the city’s aging water storage tank, located at the intersection of E. Hill Avenue and N. Pecan Street.

UPDATE: Law enforcement officers searched until dark Wednesday, March 15th, but were unable to locate 8-10 suspected illegal aliens who bailed out of a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup on U.S. 277, some six miles south of Eldorado. The pickup was abandoned Wednesday afternoon south of Plantible Foods after a high-speed chase originating in Sonora.

The Schleicher County ISD board of trustees met Monday evening, March 6th and voted to hire Kristin Sissom to be the elementary principal. She is currently employed as the middle school principal at Crockett County CCSD. The board also voted to accept the resignation of Richard Ramsey. He teaches 7th grade history and was the head girls basketball coach. Sissom’s hiring and Ramsey’s resignation are both effective at the end of the current school year.
